Obituary for William "Bill" C. Schlosser
William C. “Bill” Schlosser 92 of Mendota passed away Thursday November 16 in Sunset Senior Living Center in Palos Park IL. A Funeral Mass will be Wednesday November 22 at 11 in Holy Cross Church in Mendota. Fr. Dennis Lewandowski of Holy Spirit Catholic Community in Naperville IL. will officiate. Burial will follow in Peru City Cemetery. Visitation will be in the church on Wednesday from 10 until the time of services. The Burgess Funeral Home in La Salle is handling the arrangements.

He was born on August 17, 1925 in St. Mary’s Hospital in La Salle to William P. and Anna M (Kmitta) Schlosser.

He married Betty Rose Peterson on November 26, 1955. She passed away on December 21, 1969.

He later married Betty Jane Behrens on July 15, 1972. She passed away on February 22, 1997.

He was employed at Westclox in the department of Machinery and Tool Design until the factory’s closing in 1980. He then worked for Bassick’s in Spring Valley until the factory’s closing in 1988.

Throughout his life he was involved in the following organizations; Honorary Life Member of the Knights of Columbus J.F.K. Council Mendota since 1944, 70-year member of Starved Rock Assembly, 4th degree Knights of Columbus, Mendota Moose Lodge, Thomas Larkin Post American Legion of Oglesby, Life Member of St. Hyacinth Post of Catholic War Veterans in La Salle, Mendota Museum and Historical Society, La Salle County Historical Society, Better Fishing Association of Northern IL., Active volunteer of the Mendota Railroad Museum.

He is survived by; 1 Son; James W. (Barbara) Schlosser of Naperville, IL
2 Grandsons; Robert and Timothy Schlosser
1 Sister; Leona (WM.) Smith of Oglesby

Several nieces and nephews and cousins.
He is preceded in death by: his 2 wives, 1 son (Robert E. Schlosser March 3, 1978) 1Sister Betty Losch of California

In Lieu of flowers Memorials may be directed to the family for his favorite charities.
