Obituary for Mary J. Ravnikar
Mary Ravnikar 91 of La Salle passed away November 15 at 3:47PM in Manor Court in Peru. A Funeral mass will be Saturday November 18 at 11 in St. Valentine’s Church in Peru. Monsignor Richard Soseman pastor of St. Valentine’s and St. Mary’s Church in Peru will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Vincent Cemetery in La Salle. Visitation will be Saturday in the church from 9 until the time of services. The Burgess Funeral Home in La Salle is handling the arrangements.
She was born on October 31, 1926 in La Salle to Tranquilla (Frank) and Jenny Parisotto.
She married Frank Ravnikar on July 1, 1950 in Sacred Heart Church in Oglesby.
She worked for Westclox in Peru for over 25 years as a clerk.
She was a member of St. Valentine’s Church. She earlier belonged to the former St. Roch’s / Resurrection Churches in La Salle until their closing. She was a member of the SNPJ Society “Slovenska Norodna Podporna Jednota, “Slovene National Benefit Society” Lodge # 2 of La Salle.
She is survived by her husband
2 Nieces: Connie (Dr. Ram) Gouda, Sarah (Peter) Bonavia
4 Nephews: Randy (Rosemary) Ulanowski, Robert (Laura) Ravnikar, James (Karen) Ravnikar, and Richard (Francine) Ravnikar.
2 brother in laws: Emil Ulanowski and John (Jennet) Ravnikar
She is preceded in death by; 2 sisters: Rena Ulanowski (2017) and Lydia Weekly (2007)
