Obituary for Maria E. Matos
Maria E. (Hernandez) Matos 62 of La Salle passed away July 8 at 5:16 PM after arriving in IVCH Emergency Room in Peru. A Sripture Service will be Thursday July 11 in the Burgess Funeral Home in La Salle at 7:30 PM. Visitation will be in the funeral home from 4 PM until the time of services. Burial will be at a later date.
Maria was born on October 24, 1956 in Honduras to Oscar and Otilia (Lopes) Hernandez.
She married Pedro J. Matos Sr. in Chicago on October 15, 1977.
She was a member of St. Hyacinth Church.
She was employed by Econo Foods in Peru for 7 years. She was also employed by Heritage Health in la Salle for 12 years.
She is survived by 3 sons: Pedro (Lania Charleston) Matos Jr. of La Salle, Daniel (Lisa) Matos of Peru, and Adam (Deanna) Matos of La Salle.
She is preceded in death by her husband (Pedro) in 2013
