Obituary for Elizabeth "Betty" Happ
Elizabeth “Betty” Happ 85 of Peru passed away Saturday July 28 at 1:15AM in Heritage Health in Mendota. A funeral mass will be held Aug 4 at 10:30 AM in St. Hyacinth Church. Fr. Paul Carlson Pastor of LaSalle Catholic Parishes will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Vincent Cemetery. Visitation will be in the church from 9 AM until the time of services. The Burgess Funeral Home in LaSalle is handling the arrangements.
She was born on March 13, 1933 in St. Mary’s Hospital LaSalle to Aloysius “Al” and Dorothy (Miller) Pyszka of LaSalle.
She married Jerome Happ on September 25, 1954.
She was a homemaker most of her life until she went back to school and became a CNA. For her first years she took care of the homebound. She later took her skills and was employed at Hawthorne Inn in Peru for several years.
She was a member of St. Hyacinth Church, a past member of the St. Hyacinth Altar and Rosary Society. She was the past president of the Peru Junior Woman’s Club in 1953.
She is survived by;
2 Sons: Terry (Frances) Happ of Peru and Larry (Mary Kaye) Happ of LaSalle
1Daughter: Carrie (Chuck) Dean of LaSalle,
4 Grandchildren: Dr. Christopher (Dr. Erin) Happ of Fort Worth Texas, Steven (Katie) Happ of Denver CO., Jenna Happ of Peru and Michael (Amber) Dean of Peru.
5 Great Grand Children: Clark Peter, Lillian Frances, Alice Elizabeth, Violet Maire and Lane John Happ
2 Sisters: Shirley Conn of Greeley CO. and Ellen Kelley of Hudson Il.
Several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by;
1 granddaughter: Caitlyn Dean (1990) a brother in-law Paul Kelley, and 2 nephews.
