Obituary for Dorothy F. Stachowiak
Dorothy F. Stachowiak 97 of La Salle passed away Saturday June 2 at 10:14PM in Willowbrook Memory Care of Savoy, Savoy Illinois. A funeral mass will be Friday June 8 at 10 AM in St. Hyacinth Church. The Very Reverend Paul Carlson Pastor of La Salle Catholic Parishes will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Hyacinth Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 6 to 8 PM in the Burgess Funeral Home in La Salle. Additional visitation will be in the funeral home on Friday from 9AM until the time of services. The Burgess Funeral Home in La Salle is handling the arrangements.
She was born on October 27, 1920 in La Salle to Constantine “Gus” and Anna (Schalla) Hudak.
She married Anton “Tony” Stachowiak in St. Hyacinth Church in La Salle on September 5, 1949.
She was employed by Illinois Bell Telephone as an operator. For over 20 years she was the banquet Hostess for the Kaskaskia Hotel in La Salle.
She was a member of St. Hyacinth Church.
Dorothy treasured time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Since the day her first grandchild was born, she was lovingly called “Busia” by her family. Dorothy cherished her many friends and relatives. She was a long-time member of Do-Si-Do Square Dancers and the “Kaskaskia Girls Lunch Brunch”. She always looked forward to weekly card games with friends.
She is survived by;
1 Son; Rick (Karen) Stachowiak of Peru and 1 Daughter Sue (Bruce) Hallen of La Salle.
6 Grandchildren; Ann (Jeff) Kibler of Toronto, Ontario Canada, Steve (Hannah) Stachowiak of Stevensville Michigan, Brian, Greg and Lisa Hallen of La Salle, and Eric Hallen of Denver Colorado.
3 Great-Grandchildren; Katherine, Elizabeth, and Alexandra Kibler of Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
She is preceded in death by; her parents, her husband (1984), and 6 brothers; Al, Edward, Emil, Harold, Frank and Robert.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family for her favorite charities.
